Weddy dress Hack – Making a two-pieces set
When I made this dress my inspiration was the character of Wednesday Addams. That was the reason why I chose both the fabrics and the color palette but at the same time I knew that the silhouette of the dress could be very versatile and flattering if you simply change the most aggressive points of the original design: the collar and the sleeves. The best thing about this dress pattern is that it can be used both as a dress and as a two-piece set of skirt and blouse or jacket. Below you are going to see the small changes you need to make to get your two-piece set!!
First of all you can decide whether to keep the collar pattern or not. If you prefer a more minimalist neckline simply remove these pieces from the pattern.
The dress has a seam at the waistline so it is really simple to separate the bodice from the skirt. Just don’t put things together!!! In fact you can check out a simple way to add a hidden waistband on our blog. The only piece you need to alter is the front buttoned-placket piece.

Want another idea?
Maybe you prefer to eliminate the front placket seam so that it becomes one piece.

If you want to totally change the feel of the garment and customize the pattern much more our collar and sleeve packs can be a quick and easy option.
Look how cute the blouses look with these examples of lantern/ballon sleeves and Peter Pan collars.

See you soon!
